Laura Arpey, Pashley Elementary School Social Work

Purchase therapeutic games and equipment for the Pashley Elementary School Social Work Program.

Tim Brunson, BH-BL High School Social Studies Department

A community service project [for a Participation in Government Class] to organize a basketball tournament, open to the public.  All proceeds generated were to be donated to the Saratoga County Special Olympics basketball program.

Grant: $200

 

Mary-Ann Doyle, BH-BL High School Math Department

Purchase of TI-83 graphing calculators for loan to students and for classroom use.

Grant: $1,000

 

O’Rourke Middle School HOPE (Helping Other Peers Everywhere)

To get a peer mediator group started in O’Rourke Middle School.  The peer mediator group will be aimed at helping students that are in crisis.

Grant: $1,200

 

Cathy Krylowicz, Stevens Elementary School

“Books for the first grade B.A.G.S. program.  This is a traveling library for first graders, developed by the first grade teachers in 1989.  B.A.G.S. stands for “Bring Along Good Stories”

Grant: $300

 

Marge Rizzo, O’Rourke Middle School Library

“A series of CD’s, covering a variety of composers, historical periods, and styles.  Students in general music classes in grade 7 participate in a music/library lesson in which the student researches the composer and historical period and listens to the music written by the composer.  Listening activities will also be structured for the 6th grade general music students, and individual listening activities will be available for orchestra members.”

Grant: $409.25

 

Pashley Elementary School 50th Birthday Committee

50th birthday pins for Pashley Elementary School.  A birthday committee planned activities and events to be carried out throughout the school year.

Grant: $400

...to the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Education Foundation website! The Foundation was chartered in 1999 to create new opportunities for education in our community and is run by a volunteer board.

The Foundation supports the youth of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake school community by generating and disbursing funds for services, equipment, enrichment programs and other projects designed to enhance education.
