Lindsay Armbruster and Lyndsay Stein, O’Rourke Middle School

“The funds will be used to purchase tools to assist us in integrating social-emotional learning and mindfulness education into our Health and Science classes.”

Grant: $1,459.42

 

Lindsay Armbruster, O’Rourke Middle School

“The funds will be used to purchase 5 balance ball chairs to replace several typical desk chairs in my classroom.”

Grant: $399.95 for five chairs

 

Tim Brunson and Ann-Marie Mueller, BH-BL High School

The funds will be used to replace the cafeteria sound system. The PA system is no longer working. A newer system would allow connection to iPod/iPad/MP3 player etc.

Grant: $3,463.75

 

Sabine Erickson, BH-BL High School

The funds will be used to purchase a book of activities, five lab cradles, a hand dynamometer, and 30 TI Nspire calculators.

Grant: $6,646.66

 

Susan Perdomo, BH-BL ELS Department

The funds will be used to begin a literacy initiative to help English Language Learners to develop reading and language skills by providing them with access to audio tapes that they can listen to while they read a book at home.

“My goal is to build a digital collection of high quality books children can take home and listen to (and read along) every night. I would like to have 183 books available! Most children have CD players at home, but for those who do not I would like to purchase 5 portable MP3 players with external headphone and speaker jacks that can be lent out.

Grant: $280 for five MP3 players, a cassette to MP3 converter, and audiobooks

 

Bridget Patton

The funds will be used to acquire multi-sensory teaching tools to use with all 60 kindergarten students during WIN time (level grouping to develop specific skills and knowledge).

Grant: $400

...to the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Education Foundation website! The Foundation was chartered in 1999 to create new opportunities for education in our community and is run by a volunteer board.

The Foundation supports the youth of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake school community by generating and disbursing funds for services, equipment, enrichment programs and other projects designed to enhance education.
