Grants: Fall 2007

March 12, 2017

Bretton Adams, Stevens Elementary

5 Kodak Easy Share digital cameras with internal memory were purchased for fifth grade special education students to use in the documentation of the people, places, and things that are important to them. These photos will be used to create a hard copy book about the student and their life, potentially used in the creation of digital stories. When not in use for the project the cameras will be available to other teachers for classroom projects.

Grant: $433

Ed Hanlon, O’Rourke Middle School Technology Department

Six GPS systems were provided to the technology classes at the O’Rourke Middle School. The systems will be used to gather data (surveying, mapping, landscape design, tracking systems, search and rescue) that would be uploaded to the computer, manipulated and be used by students to solve various real world problems.

Grant: $1,250

Beth Larson, BH-BL High School Social Studies Department

A sound system was added to the DVD projector that the Foundation granted the previous year. It will be available for those who make presentations in the high school’s red room and with the movies the SS Department shows during an after school movie program.

Grant: $680

Rosine Leloir, BH-BL High School Foreign Language Department

Foundation funds purchased an Elmo document camera for classrooms at the high school. The document camera has the unique capacity to display any document through a video display, projector or TV monitor. These documents can be images, transparencies, 3-D documents, photographs, slides and objects. It also has a zoom feature, which allows the students to see details of a document.

Grant: $730

Regina Reals, BH-BL High School Science Department

A Gateway E 295-C tablet computer was purchased for use in the “Science Research in the High School” program.

Grant: $1,302

Frames were purchased to showcase artwork from the computer and graphic art classes.
